FITTING K&N 57I KIT

PART 1

1. Unclip and remove the intake hose from the throttle body and air box lid
(Use a pair of pliers to remove the two clips then yank at the hose till it comes off)

2. Unscrew and remove the air box lid assembly from the base, leave the air box base in place
(use a good quality philips head screwdriver and a lot of patience the screws are naff and you have to be carefull not to take the heads off them)

3. Unclip and remove the plastic intake duct from the slam panel, remove the duct from the car
(how does this clip work . i think its magic . all the screw drivering pliering and general bashing and the thing wont move . i have left mine in till i find a way of getting it off)

4. Unclip and remove the breather hose from the rear of the air box base
(sounds easy but its not . squeeze the two sticky out bits of the clip together as hard as you can with one hand with the other use a flat head screwdriver to push against the breather hose and the pipe from the air box and edge the pipe and clip off together bit by bit)

PART 2

1. Fit the new intake hose onto the throttle body and secure with hose clip provided
(steps 2 and 3 can be done before part 1 so that you are attaching a complete filter to the car . I found it easier this way .)
The kit only comes with 2 hose clips but the pic clearly shows 3 used on the test ka so go to local auto shop for a large jubilee clip

2. Fit the filter onto the metal tube up to the step in the filter base. Do not push beyond this step as this will affect air flow. Tighten the clip until the filter just turns, then give the clip one full turn.

3. Fit the filter assembly to the intake hose. Rotate so the K&N logo is straight then tighten the clip
(Three steps three clips i think K&N have it wrong)

4. Insert half of the small plastic tube into the engine breather hose and secure with the original clip. Insert the tube into the hole in the base of the filter

5. Carfully lengthen the 60mm diameter flexi cold air hose and feed the hose over the radiator to the front grille. Secure the hose from the filter 10cm from the filter using a long plastic tie supplied.
( Have yet to do this as i cant remove the intake duct see part 1 step 3)

6. Feed the cold air hose to the front grill. drill a hole in the end of the hose and secure to the grille using the plasic tie supplied
